  1. yes, it was quick with just a 2-week engagement, but not the shortest in the family (shakeh & jake gave 10 days notice)! my dress cost $12 off the RS clearance rack and was my temple dress up until 2006. time flies and many changes take place, but some things never change-- like strater not even waiting for me to meet him at the doors! 2. I remember being a little kid in Lima Peru and watching with so much awe, respect and admiration the missionaries that lived in my dad's house, among them I recognize that Elder with the glasses and the haircut, yes! Elder Crowfoot! I wanted to be a missionary because I saw him and others as a great example, Thank You for that! my Father loved each and every one of those Elders.

  3. Alejandro, yes the rippling effect of missionary service is very powerful. Like your experience, Strater's impressionable young heart was also touched by missionaries who came to teach his family the restored gospel of Jesus Christ. His favorite Elder was Thomas Hudspeth, who had served in the Vietnam conflict and desired to be a different kind of soldier following his return to civilian life. "Truth is our helmet, buckler and shield... Danger may gather--why should we fear?... Jesus, our Leader, ever is near..." (Hymns 250) I will pass your comment on to Elder Crowfoot, his children and grandchildren. Thank you.
